The Holbourne Museum is not just an iconic part of Bath architecture (featuring in Bridgeton as Lady Danbury’s house, no less) but is also the city’s first public art gallery. Art is displayed immaculately within this Grade 1 listed building, and offers insights into the cities history. As well as the permanent collection, the museum also displays a variety of exhibits that are well worth visiting

One of the best things about The Holburne is the cafe in the new extension. Super staff, excellent coffee and yummy cakes. The permanent exhibition is great as was the temporary one on when I last visited. If you are in Bath anytime The Holburne should be on your wish list

I recommend The Holbourne Museum for history lovers to explore art and history. I have to give a huge shout out to Kerry who was just magical! Kerry explained things with ease but made it easy and interesting, Kerry honestly made our visit special with her knowledge, passion and friendly nature! Great visit!

The Holburne gave us a sense of what Bath would have been like in its heyday, the museum like Bath then, is full of treasures small and large including some very imposing Reynolds portraits and the tiniest of miniature curia. Definitely worth a visit.

Awful service at the café. Uncleared tables. Dirty. Girl with brown hair in a bun literally rolled her eyes at me as I asked at the counter if someone can wipe the table where we were about to sit. She also needed to be asked to clear it before, after which she just left it covered in spilled drinks. Plain awful service. Ruins the nice atmosphere and overall setting of the museum.

This was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Bath. A pleasant walk from the city centre through the beautiful wide Georgian streets takes you to the Grade 1 listed museum building . We were lucky enough to see the Rego & Goya exhibition which was fascinating & Neon Dreams: Chila Kumari Singh Burman 's Bengal tiger were particular highlights. Lovely gardens outside are also worth a wander! I've taken a star off due to the overpriced and tiny cafe but that was the only blemish on a lovely visit.

I'm not sure if I'm reviewing the cafe or the museum as a whole, but given the lack of option for just the cafe I'm assuming it is both. A lovely little gallary with no shortage of things to tickle the ol brain and eyeballs, and a nice little bright cafe perfect to take the kiddos too after the park. Shout out to Luke who was lovely and helpful.

Super museum and art gallery with lovely cafe too. They generally have a permanent collection on mixed with 1 or 2 temporary exhibitions. It's over a couple of floors and I recommend 60-90 mins to cover everything. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful too. A little gem.

Very disappointing the cafe offers no real food and was very crowded. Also the Gainsborough - a very nice one - was easy to find but no indication of the location of the cabinet and what was very strange - no one, not even security, in the museum to ask. They had some very bad modern art in the middle of some of the rooms which didn’t create at all to the paintings. The one piece we liked the most was strangely blocked from full view by another piece(!) see photo.
